But Edom, Moab and the leaders of Ammon will be saved from him.

Many people think the king of the south here stands for Islam. The "christian west" is most likely the king of the north at this point. It never seemed possible for the the west to attack the land of Judah, currently the fake state of Israel. BUT...if the king of the south, Islam, were to destroy Israel, it's all but guaranteed the US would attempt to reclaim it.
The news from the north and east could be Russia and China, and the US would he defested by them. This could seem to line up with the fall of babylon the great in Rev 18. After both, Michael/Jesus comes to save His people.
