I just posted about using HA for monitoring on my place a little while ago. I'm planning on posting more on the topic, hoping to introduce the technology to people who might otherwise think this level of sophisticated monitoring and control is beyond their skills. It's not quite plug-and-play, but it can be much easier than most people probably think it is.
