When I first went to the US, they had "news" blasting in laundromats and at the hospital I worked in. I was shocked at how local it was. Like nothing about the rest of the world, or even the rest of the USA, it didn't exist.
Now imagine a whole life of that, so local.
I tried to tell people waaay back when "Creep" came out by Radohead, that the words were "so fucking special" not "so very special" lol
I was told "We dont have censorship In the USA." Lying just makes you sound immature.
Ohhhhh, good times. I had just flown in from London. Sure, I was only 19, but had been to 40 countries before the age of 12. My mom and dad made the list, it was shocking to look at.
Still, at 47, people call me a liar to my face.
But, I guess that's the part of being a woman that men will never understand. Untill later. Maybe on their deathbed. Maybe never. Who cares.
They don't see a human being.
I've dug and dug: "Talk to me like a human. Like a man, please?"
"But you're not."
"Why?"
"Because you're not."
