We are in the middle of a unit on AI right now and part of it is thinking about the impacts. One example was "you and your friend are applying to the same program (police training) and you find out he has been using AI to bring his grades up". They had to think about who this affects. They could not think beyond themselves to the program not getting the best candidate to the police force who hires him in the future not getting an officer that won't cut corners to the citizens that might not be well served. They had to be nudged every step of the way. And when they broke into groups with different AI situations, many of them could not extrapolate to a wider impact.
