npub186xpuql27m8sp5jrs4s29dw8wx0ztqv7mkfwgpwqsfd8smn8exlqah6uup (npub186x…6uup) The thing is, if a state actor wanted to contribute malicious code, no one would've prevented one from doing so white pretending to be some John Smith from Arkansas. This already happened with both the xz backdoor and University of Minnesota contributing buggy code to the kernel, in both cases this was uncovered post factum. Ironically, thanks to the recent endeavours of npub10h972xrgnfukjshf5f6vhv9hfueec0jpggmmgjyjjac75z7xdn8s6perav (npub10h9…erav) who wanted to commit patches under his vtuber persona's name, it's even easier now since the real name policy is essentially deprecated.
