Finally! Got the wrong HotSync cable and the PalmOS version predates HotSync over irda. I tried beaming files across from a Windows XP laptop but it just didn’t work, turns out I needed to do a magical incantation which involved starting HotSync on the Palm when XP was trying to send the file then when it failed sending it again which worked #RetroComputing
