So basically I started out by making the basic shape of the bee until I was happy with that, and then used it as the basis for the emoji set by just swapping out the faces and accessories

I make them all as vector art (in affinity designer) on 256x256 artboards, then export them as svg, then I have a script that converts those svgs to pngs, but the svg step isn’t really necessary and I don’t think anyone else bothers with that

Here’s my affinity designer document for blobbee, putting them all in the same one makes it super easy to make new ones because you can just duplicate an existing one similar to what you want to make and then change a few things
