I was driving today when my passenger said "It's real pretty up here" as our route traversed the top of a huge long sloping pasture dotted with (invasive) flowering trees.

I heard myself saying "First time I drove down this road it was a huge tank farm here, but they tore all that out about 15 years ago and it's real pretty now."

Never really intended to put down roots in this particular corner of Red State heck but now I'm that "turn left down by where that old tank farm used to be" local.
