The main indicator that there have been no civilisations as gluttonous/advanced as ours so far is the still existent large clumped deposits of natural resources such as metals, oil, coal and so forth. That is before we started digging them up on a large scale.
Once we are gone it is unlikely there will be oil again, coal again and veins of metal. That people can find and dig up. /1
