Yeah. I found it lacking in spontaneity.
Part of writing character-driven fiction is giving the characters space to react as the events unfold. I found plotting didn't give me the room I needed to dig in and follow those reactions.
I also need to feel like I'm solving a problem, and sometimes a little bit surprised by what's happening. So I usually start with a couple characters, a setting, and some vibes.
