My take is that long term they need to reduce the gap between rich and poor so the US and the world once again has a broad middle class that likes nice liberal meritocratic stuff. But to get there they need to ride this resentment and focus people's rage on the rich. This is why AOC or her ilk are our best hope to be the next president.
