Thanks. Yeah they are a thin, but probably not what I'm actually seeing at the $150 range. That's more of the popular name brands and such. Do you know if the super cheapo ones in the $40 range work well enough for simple straight stitches (not the stapler looking ones)? The cost to repair my machine is not worth given its age, (old singer clone). I mostly want something to sew through nylon and common outdoor technical fabrics, doing some MYOG and reusing old components from past builds.
