In the U.S. justice system, children like today’s 14-year-old school shooter are often charged as adults. But adults with the intellectual age of children are never charged as children. Why? Don’t tell me that’s what the insanity defense is used for since I’m not writing about insanity and the insanity defense is rarely successful in our vengeful system.
