Lol, no they werent. C# wasn't originally a microsoft product, and niether is C++. IIRC neither of those developers were even American. You could say .NET or MSIL was, but even the runtime was originally not a Microsoft project. C# was a product of targeting MSIL, mostly feature complete, the Roslyn compiler specifically, which was then acquired by MS only a little while ago.
