We are experiencing a trend of students having to wait 6 to 9 months for an examiner report on their PhD thesis. Please PhD examiners, DO NOT DO THIS. Maybe it's fine where you live, but where I live

(a) students don't get a scholarship once their thesis is submitted.
(b) students can't start a post-doc until their PhD is awarded.

So you are expecting people to live on no income for 9 months?

If you can't examine a PhD thesis within 2 months then do not agree to examine PhD theses
