The decline of the high-street in a single graph.
In the last ten years the share of purchases made online has grown from around 10% to just under 30%; if you take that much demand out of a sector, there is going to be a major restructuring, and indeed this is what we have been seeing on the high street, with a swing towards experiential & in-person services.
This isn't necessarily a 'problem' provided our retail spaces can be repurposed into social-useful & beneficial activities.
