Not to be an “ackshuallyyy” kind of guy, but doesn’t the US federal reserve essentially “buy” USD when they do quantitative tightening? And conversely, wouldn’t you say the US treasury is effectively “buying” USD from the fed when the fed is doing quantitative easing? Just curious.
