One thing I loathe about our ad-centric world is, when you *do* demand unsubscription from whatever fresh hell list you've been added to, they say they've updated your "preferences."

Let me make this clear: it's not a tea vs. coffee or white rice vs. brown rice issue. That's a preference.

This is a withdrawal of *consent*, which is an entirely different thing that is completely unlike a "preference."

I'd do more business at a company that acknowledged that in an unsubscribe.
