Serious request: any recommendations for a *really well done* period npub17sa90q8gju9xaghm97l5mjxcr7xclvyjrlh8qtqsstgjk0xz290st7csqx (npub17sa…csqx) TV series, for a picky viewer?
Foyle's War & the Jeremy Brett Holmes are my gold standards, followed the good BBC Agatha Christie adaptations + Gosford Park of course. I tend to prefer BBC (which picks actors for skill instead of pretty faces) & I almost never enjoy mysteries set later than 1950s. I recently tried Mrs Bradley & Miss Fischer, thought both were meh, & found Knives Out decent but unexceptional.
