People often think it is funny to reply to other people’s posts pretending to be an asshole. If you need a reason to stop doing that besides the fact that no one asked you to do that, try this:

At some level, our brains interpret words literally. So if someone jokingly says something mean about you, part of your brain will feel hurt, even if you intellectually know they intend the opposite.

You think you’re making fun of the asshole, but you’re actually just… being an asshole.

Please stop.
