The fear of cancelation isn’t just about losing a voice, economic stability, or reputation…I think it’s also rooted in the fear of losing the self we’ve constructed, the ego that craves validation and “belonging”. It’s the fear of being cast out, of no longer being seen or accepted, of facing the unknown without the safety net of approval. This fear traps ppl, making ppl shrink, conform, and silence their truth to protect what is ultimately an illusion.

The paradox is that the moment we shed the ego, the fear loses its grip. When we stop defining ourselves by what others think, by our status or external validation, we find freedom. Financial means start to flow easier because we’re authentic; and people can sense bullshit from authenticity. We stop playing the game of control and step into authenticity. Truth doesn’t need an audience to be real, and once we let go of the ego’s need for approval, we can finally speak and live without fear.

And you’re right…Nostr embodies this... It allows ideas to exist untethered, unbound by the fragile constructs of ego and societal control. In letting go of the fear of being “canceled,” we reclaim our voice…not as something to be protected, but as something to be shared freely, because the truth doesn’t require permission. And in that, we find a freedom that no one can take away from us. 🫶
