I don't know if I'd go that far, but I've built a thing or two, and I'm no dummy, yet I find nostr is not quite as simple to build on as it's made out to be. Sending stuff on relays is easy enough, but an ever growing list of NIPs, the potential for tens of thousands kinds, single letter tags, encoding, decoding, different ids, it definitely gets complicated quickly, and it's hard to keep track of what the consensus for doing anything is. Perhaps there isn't a consensus yet, and that's part of the pain I'm feeling.
