Even with strain-matched vaccines and a variant that was less tuned for immune escape, it didn't [adequately] block transmission. There's no value in villifying anyone on this point, if there ever was. It was yet another successful bait+switch tactic used by those seeking to usher us down the offramps. It kept us at each other's throats instead of focused on where we were being led.
