For the 15, or so, years before the recent turbulence I would commute each day to the city. On a good day it was about four hours, in and out. Average 12km/day walking, four or more bus journeys and any number of train/subway trips. As you might appreciate it gave me plenty of time to read and ponder, especially as I was working 7 days a week.
I started to practise something. I pushed my conscious thoughts to a level just above the bus, at the same time dissolving the bus into invisibility. Initially, I was say, 20 ft above watching me and my fellow passengers floating along through the city. Soon other passengers in other invisible vehicles joined in the vision. As I knew every street, every hill, every tunnel, every tree I was soon able to see quite a clear vision in my mind of us all, two layers of a double decker bus, hovering along the roads. As I got better at it I tried to hold the vision to as long as possible without losing the concentration. A challenge.
Then, I could fly up higher or lower at will. Sometimes just above the bus and sometimes right up thousands of feet in the air, all the while holding the city and land in my mind’s vision with us slowly meandering around. As time went on I added another aspect. All the buildings I dissolved. Only people sitting, standing, walking in mid air all up inside the towers. Each person only 8ft above the other, oblivious to what and how above and below was. Small groups standing in a bunch going up and down in invisible elevators, me looking down on myself floating along the road, stuck in traffic or waiting in front of three coloured lights on a pole and at will following the elevators up until I would float up above the buildings. Hundreds of people shooting through tubes under the streets and every few minutes hundreds more passing over the city all sitting in perfect rows ready for landing at the airport.
