it’s so important to get the facts straight and not just buy into the narrative that there’s never been a chance- reconstruction was going in the right direction! It was giving power to Black people and could have really changed our history. Sadly, I believe we underestimated the South and their hatred- also their cunning- ability to find allies in the north.
