If they wanted to, our local billionaires could easily write a check to fully fund Seattle Public Schools for the next few decades, preventing the mass school closures and staff cuts and large ratios, without having to sell a single yacht, without even *noticing* the tiny decrement in their savings.
They just don't want to.
Big philanthropy won't lift a finger for our kids' schools. Their only interest is in grifting *off* schools, not contributing to them.
That's why we need income taxes.
