Steve Randy Waldman (npub1tr4…50gh) I have no issue with artists doing covers of other artists when permitted. But a country cover of her work being a hit shines brightly on the hypocrisy of Nashville. They have historically mistreated and/or underpaid women and ousted people of color, non-evangelicals, and non-heterosexuals from the industry from musicians to janitorial staff. When I was there it became clear it is city full of bigots and homophobes with very few exceptions. Was glad to leave it and the country music industry behind. They get zero dollars and promo from me.
