One of the cats in LA which has tested positive for H5N1 got it not from drinking tainted raw milk (like the rest of them did), but apparently from eating pet food which contained raw chicken & raw beef. Basically, this thing is at least occasionally in a whole bunch of human consumed food products at this point and the only thing saving us from infecting ourselves is heat treatment.
