So the privacy isn't much of an issue. I don't know if the rooms in the welcome centre would have ceilings, but there's obviously way more privacy than a typical homeless shelter. Here's a picture of my crutches still wrapped in plastic but it looks like a regular room if you don't look up 😝. The big problem is noise. It's so loud it's hard to describe. Firstly the lack of real walls means sound isn't absorbed. Secondly the ventilation system is loud, maybe especially because of it being a pandemic hospital. Probably extra air cleaning. But no walls and ceiling are absolutely making it worse. I wore headphones 24/7 and it was still loud. There's the obviously people noise, hospital noise (beeping, so much beeping), tvs, people talking on phones, visitors etc. Rain is loud. I was there in September, but it's a tent so the heating and cooling is hard. I was usually way too hot, but sometimes it would suddenly get cold but I couldn't reach the blankets myself.
