Many reasons. Been using Macbook Pro for a long time. I also use Linux and Windows, but mostly Apple devices at work. Everything works more seamlessly on Apple ecosystem, more well designed apps in general. And as a visual person everything is beautiful in the Apple camp.
On Android it’s constant tinkering and bloat. Grew tired of having to always look for the best custom ROM or a phone with best hardware optimized for certain feature set or ROMs. There are more options on Android but I dislike having the endless sea of bad options. In the mobile world things just need to work. Apple does that beautifully.
Oh yeah and there are still no good looking Mastodon apps on Android. For iOS there are plenty. Android apps generally suck ass visually.
My only regret is I didn’t buy an iPhone sooner. Had iPod Touch in 2007 and it was great. In 2023 I purchased the latest 1000 €+ Android phone and its screen latency was worse than the previous model so I returned it and got the latest iPhone instead.
