I also want to remind everyone: It's PERFECTLY OKAY to still love art made by people who turn out to be terrible. It's good not to SUPPORT those people, once you know they've done horrible things, but the WORK ITSELF lives in your heart and you own it as much as anyone else does.
(It's also, of course, totally okay to feel like your relationship to a work has been changed or even ruined by a revelation that someone is terrible! But in my experience, LOTS of people will tell you that. I want to tell you that it's okay if your relationship to the work is NOT ruined.)
There are many books by terrible people that have been deeply, deeply formative for me. It's reasonable and fine to say, "Yes, the author is a shithead, but i refuse to cede the love and meaning this art has created in my life to a shithead."
