Using the d tag as a common identifier when a bunch of articles might be versions of the same work, as in different translations of the Bible, sounds solid to me. My concern is that aggressive relays might delete older events with the same ID to preserve space, as that is allowed by the spec for 30000-series events.
If we need to, we could add an extra "topic" tag to make articles easy to search.
