I'd always assumed that this was the direction more people would take too.
For example, enthusiasts of every sort could start their own relays to share specific types of content, whether that be bird-watching hobbyists, religious communities, or couchsurfers. Why not?
At this point though, I imagine the main obstacle would be technical knowledge. The average book club or whatever doesn't have someone who would know how to set up a relay.
Perhaps, relay establishment (and maintenance) as a service could be a useful business in the future?
