#WritingWonders Day 6/6 - Does your MC have any nicknames? If so, how did they come by them?

Artos wasn't born in the village of Hartriggs, he was brought there as a small baby, under cover of darkness to be raised by the local witch.

From that day forward, until he was around 12 years old he was simply known to the rest of the village as 'Wee Bastard'.

When Diana enters the story, she is already on her own quest, which requires the quest Artos is on to succeed first. In Diana's quest, it was predicted that she should gain the support of 'The Bastard of Caledon'

Now the educational bit ...

In Scottish slang, being called a bastard is not necessarily an insult. You can be called anything starting with F, B, or C, and it becomes a term of affection if you pair it with the word 'guid' (good).

So, for example, calling Artos a 'Guid wee bastard' is highly complimentary. 🙂
