Yep. Britt was referring to Cholla, but not knowing Mexi speak is forgivable. These are skeletons of Teddy Bear Cholla, which are probably the worst. The softer and fuzzier they look, the nastier they are. These have fish hooks on the soft looking spines and when a single one grabs, a piece breaks off and attaches itself to the victim. One of the first things I did when we bought this property was take a chain and wrap it around the base of each of these we has and yanked them out with the tractor. I don't see any pictures of living ones in my folders, but maybe I'll go for a stroll and take a pic on the .gov land nearby that is chock full of these.
