One thing I've thought about that makes me a little less filled with doom about AI image and text pollution is the panic I remember "desktop publishing" causing among some people in the 80s and 90s It was suddenly very easy to have very good-looking *typeset* publications that said just about any damn thing you wanted.
Since I was a child gleefully making my own newsletters through this time, I don't remember feeling panic at all. I had issues of "Art Punk" Magazine to get out!
