The monastery of St. Catherine's at Mount Sinai was not founded by St. Catherine, but by the emperor Justinian (r. 527-565).

The namesake St. Catherine (if she existed) had died over two hundred years earlier.

Justinian's wife was not named Catherine but Theodora, who is not considered a saint by the (Greek/Chalcedonian) Orthodox or Roman Catholics, though she is by the Syriac Orthodox.
