Let’s make a distinction between listening and hearing. So let’s call “hearing” that physical sense function, whereby we hear whatever we hear.

Now let’s call “listening” something different than just plain hearing with our sense of hearing.

Let’s give “listening” to a spiritual dimension where we are only able to open ourselves to it, through the intention to do so, and while at the same time, trusting that there IS this greater dimension called the spirit, with which we can make contact through our intent to do so and intentionally listening for its voice.
