You've always struck me as a rational fellow.

I've used Emacs since 1990, daily until I retired a few years ago. I remember the first Emacs-like macros for Teco, in 1976, at the Dynamic Modeling lab at MIT (the big boys wrote code in MDL, under ITS, on one of the PDP 10s; I collected data in Fortran and assembler, under DOS-11, on a PDP 11/10, with core memory). 23l23t$$

Why do you think there's a coming climate emergency? Why do you think human action had anything to do with it? Why do you think that human action can mitigate the effects?

I've been watching the hysteria since Al Gore's movie. My conclusion has been that the whole thing is a hoax, to create a global government. All a huge power play. But mine is also a rational decision, prone to change with new information.

There's a big problem since COVID, though. I've lost all trust in formerly-trusted authorities. Even the scientific journals have been compromised. So it's hard for me to believe ANYTHING I haven't witnessed or deduced myself. Still coming to grips with that realization.
