I've done two rounds of fat transfer breast augmentation - one in December 2022, one in June 2024. I often say half-jokingly that I did it to look hotter, because I just love boobs and want more, or because it's good for sex, and all those are true (and perfectly valid reasons to do a breast augmentation). However, it also had some other benefits.
It *really* improved my passing - especially the second round. I used to get misgendered in shops and similar contexts now and then, now it almost never happens. (Unfortunately, it also means I get more exposed to low-level street harassment.) It also made some of my clothes fit better, and it made me more comfortable exploring styles that are not overtly fem. I used to say the only way for me to be sure not to get misgendered was to wear either a dress or a skirt + a top that highlighted my boobs (by showing cleavage or being close-fitting on them). Now I feel like I can dress and explore as I want with very little chance of getting misgendered.
Even though I already had some boobs before, those breast augmentations really made me feel more comfortable with my body and in my daily life, more than I thought it would. It's real, important transition surgery.
