According to BoE data, since 2020 the amount of notes (volume) in circulation has risen by 17%, representing a rise in cash (value) in circulation of around 16%... which continues the expansion of cash in circulation for the last decade or so.
Certainly cash is down to around 7% of all transactions, but for budgeting reasons it is still widely used for everyday purchases.
