I'm just saying that the study you quoted was done on women in Sweden.
If you are of fair complexion living near the equator you can't just spend all day in the sun or you will burn and eventually get skin cancer from all those burns. And if you are a dark-skinned person living near the poles.. um.. you're gonna die young from lack of sun exposure.
Dermatologists had FAR too much influence and got people to believe "every UV ray causes harm" which is nuts.
You should get moderate exposure. Don't burn. But don't wear sunscreen unless you need it to prevent burning. I almost never wear sunscreen, I hate the feel of the stuff, and I'm not usually out long enough to burn.
