Some of us will do what we can, while others are just actively ignorant. Humans are smarter than the average mammal, but too dumb to take care of the planet. But I think that the planet will be beautiful and eco-diverse again after we are gone, though it will take a thousand years or more. This is the sixth major extinction. It is not as quick as an asteroid strike, but quicker than the others. The real issue is money.
