There seem to be some escaping assumptions, like what are ttrpgs, and the function of mechanics.
The model works well with the classics, "impersonate one character, and the mechanics simulate the world", but less with exciting indie solutions (where we look for music).
Mechanics may mean: "stuff that you have to do when playing", "generator for the overall form of the session", less wordly.
