Are there many in your circles who aren't white cisgender men?

And why is it so important to join all of these together? What's so bad about having multiple islands?
Even here in the fediverse, I gather it's not unusual for there to be isolated islands of instances, because so many don't want to communicate with them. Why not respect people's choices, and accept it when they don't want the same things you do?
