Looks like we have a fungi friend learning to eat ocean plastic. News that it can eat polyethylene plastics that float ontop of the water and take enough UV light exposure become edible to a fungus in the North Pacific Ocean. The Great Pacific garbage patch may reduce overtime on its own. The fungi can't attack oceans that fall to the ocean floor and get no UV exposure.
