India-Russia Free Trade Deal Talks In Discussion — Ministers
Indian Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar confirmed on Monday that his country was already in “advance agreement” in discussions with Russia to develop free trade.
The discussions come after a boom in bilateral trade between New Delhi and Moscow, with Russia becoming India’s top supplier of crude, with imports almost quadrupling to $46.33 billion in the year to March 31, while also serving as the fourth-largest market for Indian pharmaceuticals.
Russian Industry Minister Denis Manturov explained that Moscow wants to boost imports of machinery, automotive parts, and cooperation in “civilian projects.”
