Many year ago, the romans spoke about someone's 'gravitas', which referred to their weight, seriousness and dignity, also importance, and it connoted a certain substance or depth of personality. Someone with gravitas could not be dismissed or ignored.

I cannot help but contrast the gravitas of Vladimir Putin, Sergey Lavrov, Xi Jinping, Wang Yi and Narendra Modi with the likes of Joe Biden, Antony Blinken, Rishi Sunak, James Cleverly, Olaf Scholz, Annalena Baerbock and Justin Trudeau.

Can't the West find any real leaders anymore?
