So my state’s “anti-drag” bill has been getting a lot of heat lately, and now even a federal judge is attempting to block it…

I’m just… It’s like… Where do I even begin?

Federal judges are attempting to block a bill that… simply makes a form of burlesque performance 18 and up only?…

They’re essentially telling us the the federal government is in favor of grooming your kids…

That… That doesn’t look good on you…

But I guess optics don’t matter when you hold all the levers of power. We’ll see if TN tells the feds to fuck off on this. But considering we’re a state run by Boomer Rinos who value money above God, I’m pretty sure this bill will get get stopped, and…

Well, there goes TN’s youth…

I’m a gay guy, a former theatre kid kinda gay guy. Even I don’t think that kids need to be exposed to this shit.

“But muh Hooters.” Yes, don’t take your kids to Hooters either.

I could make the argument that Hooters is simply a restaurant establishment with a skimpy dress code. But I’m not, because I do like the consistency of including places like Hooters into the mix.

“But muh theatre.” Yes, there are theatrical performances like Hairspray and Shakespeare that do require males to go in drag. But most of those performances aren’t “drag shows,” in the sense that we are talking here. When we talk about drag shows, we are talking about a raunchy form of burlesque performance whose origins reside in Cabarets which were adult entertainment venues.

Key word: Adult.

But let’s play with the idea of a ham-fisted ban.

Shows with drag characters in them aren’t drag shows. But a lot of the shows with drag characters in them are of a nature that shouldn’t be admissible to kids in the first place, mainly because the shows in question are more oriented towards adults when it comes to humor.

So even if the ban extended to theatrical performances, the effect would be minor at best (badum tiss), mainly because theatre isn’t a kids entertainment medium that is… In any way sizable enough for this application of the ban to backfire.

But I would rather stick to the argument that theatrical performances with drag characters in them are in no way the same as drag shows. John Pinette in a dress and wig isn’t remotely the same as a half-naked drag queen twerking in front of toddlers.

At the end of the day, we all know by common sense what this restriction is about, and what it is in response to. There is nothing the feds or the media can do to negate that, especially when so much footage is out there of these nightmarish events… Brought online by people who see no problem with them in the first place.

The fringe leftists decided to post these videos, thinking it was a win for progress. This isn’t just right-wingers sneaking in and filming the events in out-of-context clips. It’s people in stiff support of this kind of insanity who are letting this particular freak flag fly freely on their poles.

They get to reap the harvest that comes from these seeds they planted.
