Absolutely thrilled to watch this sharp-shinned hawk in my yard this morning. I do mourn his/her prey, perhaps a blackbird, I am not certain. Yet raptors need to eat. This hawk tried twice unsuccessfully to fly away with the bird body before succeeding on the third attempt. These are fairly small hawks. #birds #birdphotography #nature #animals #today
